While you may or may not be the part of college’s fest but here we will give you a list of some fest that you should definitely not miss out.


Mood Indigo - IIT Bombay

Mood Indigo, the Annual Cultural Fest of IIT Bombay, popularly known as MoodI is one of the largest fests of Asia. With the footfall of more than one lakh people, and over 200 competitions being organised, the fest witnesses not just people participating from India but also from people coming across the borders. The fest provides the artist with one of the best platforms to showcase their talent. Apart from the competitions consisting of heavily rewarding cash prize, the fest is also a major attraction because of its amazing Star nights and EDMs. The fest has seen some biggest names not just from India but also from other countries. The fest is usually organised in the last week of December and this year it will be the 48th edition of the fest.

Incident- NIT Karnataka

Situated in Surathkal, Karnataka, NIT Karnataka organises the second most popular fest of India- “INCIDENT”. This five day long fest is organised every year in the month of march. The fest is known not just for its amazing EDMs, popular star nights and different competitions but also for the fact that, NIT Karnataka has a private beach, with a light house where you can play games or can just sit and spend some time with your friends. The previous editions of the event saw events like parasailing, zorbing along with some breathtaking performances by renown artists like Sunidhi Chauhan, KK, Jailbreak and many more.

Oasis- BITS Pilani

Oasis is a 96 hours long extravaganza, yes you read it right. Organised in the month of end October or beginning of November, Oasis by Birla Institute of Technology, Pilani is one of the biggest fests of India which consists of events running all day and night, grasping your attention, keeping you awake and zero percent sleep literally. Over 200 colleges participate every year in this extravaganza making it one of the best fest in India.

Saarang- IIT Madras

Saarang the annual cultural fest of IIT Madras, previously known as Mardi Gras, is one of the biggest fests of its kind. The fests run for a period of five days consisting of celebrity performances, different competitions and fun filled activities. Saarang sees a footfall of more than 50,000 people since its last few editions. Moreover, Saarang in the past has been a stage for popular performers like Sunidhi Chauhan, Sonu Nigam, Kay-Kay, Shankar Ehsaan Loy to name a few. Apart from Indian artists, international bands like Opeth and Hammerfall have also left the audience amazed with their stunning performances in Saarang. It is organised every year in the month of January.

Waves- BITS Pilani (Goa Campus)

Started only in the year 2006, Waves by BITS Pilani (Goa Campus) has evolved into one of the biggest fest of India. The fest has on its name, the performances from some heavyweights from the industry – Shankar Mahadevan, Vishal-Shekhar, Indian Ocean =, Kailash Kher and many more. The event is usually organised around end October or beginning November, when Goa is at its scenic best. With a footfall of 40000 people every year, Waves organises 4 major events- Natyanjali (Art of Dance), Mr. and Mrs. Waves (The Title Event), Sea Rock (Rock Band Competition) and FashP (Fashion Parade).

Rendezvous – IIT Delhi

Started in the 1976, by a bunch of IITians, Rendezvous now in its 43rd edition has become one of the biggest fests of Northern India. Rendezvous is a French word meaning “meeting” is named aptly, since the event is all about meeting, a fest where the talents across the country meets and participates into various competitions. The event is a four day event, usually organised in the month of October and sees a footfall of over 50,000 people. The major attractions of the events are its different genre of competitions, be it dance, music or drama consisting of heavily rewarding cash prizes. The event saw several artists coming to Rendezvous- Anushka Sharma, Arijit Sing, Shankar Ehsaan Loy, Javed Akhtar and many more.

Pravega- IISc Bangalore

Pravega the annual cultural fest of Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, is the biggest fest showcasing the fusion of science, technology and culture. The fest is 3 day extravaganza, it has something for everyone, be it geeks, nerds or rock punks. DJ Aqueel, Thaikuddam Bridge, Tesserect are some of the names who have performed in Pravega. The fest is usually organised in the month of January every year.

Spring Fest – IIT Kharagpur

One of the hottest fests of India, IIT Kharagpur’s socio annual cultural fest is usually organised in the month of January every year and the event sees a footfall of over 50,000 people coming across the country. This 4 day extravaganza, is spread over 100 events where students from all across the country participates. Moreover, Spring Fest promises performance from all genres, from fusion to Bollywood to rock. Surely an event that is not supposed to be missed!
