University has directed all the principles to ask their teachers to use OSM system and to make ensure that the system can assess 150% more the current strength of the students. For using this system varsity will be issuing the certificates to college for paper correction through the system. That certificate will be used in future for the granting permission for increasing the strength in the course.

Currently there are more than 2.5 lakh students enrolled in MU and its affiliated colleges for which over 500 exams will be conducted in an year. However the OSM system was introduced in 2017-18 and due to technical issues delayed the paper corrections which delayed the result declaration. According to Maharastra Public Universities Act 2016, the result declaration should be done within 30-45 days of paper completion. Also last month Law students were protesting against the delays in result declaration. Therefore Vice Chancellor Dr. Suhas Padnekar said that the major objective of using this system is to make result declaration on time.
