Tamil Students from DU Appealed CIC for Compulsory Hindi Test

Delhi University has made compulsory Hindi test for those who didn't studied Hindi after 8th grade and want to take admission in undergraduate programmes running under the university. For this Delhi Tamil Students' Association has appealed to Central Information Commission as they didn't get the response from RTI for the same.

Since DU is a central university, the students taking admission will be from all over the country and majority of the students don't have Hindi as main language. This can be a discrimination on the basis language for those who don't studied Hindi.

DTSA President said that they just want to seek information regarding all the sort of the rules through which this test was made mandatory. According to him it is just injustice to exempt only northeastern students but not the south students. If university still wants to take this test then it has to provide the teachers to students to prepare themselves for the test.
